TAKE FIVE FIDO
Is your dog the apple of your eye but goes bonkers when you pick-up the leash or friends and family visit? Getting your dog to relax and behave confidently and calmly is one of the most common challenges pet parents face. This six-week session will teach your dog how to pay attention to you, relax and respond to everyday situations without embarrassing you. Take-Five Fido will show you how to help your dog become the great dog you always knew he (or she) could be even when your mother-in-law comes to visit!

This class is designed for non-aggressive, dog friendly dogs, only. If you are experiencing aggressive or dog reactive behavior please review our Canine Focus or Living With Your Aggressive Dog classes listed below.

Pre-requisite: Basic Level class (Teen Intervention, Small Dog, or Adult Basic I. 6 sessions)

FEARFUL FIDO

Did you know that yawning, looking away and lip licking are signs that a dog is worried? Some dogs are genetically timid and new people, animals and places worry them. Puppy Mill puppies and dogs can be fearful and worried due to lack of socialization.

If your adopted dog acts like everything in the world is terrifying, we have a class that will help you learn to gently nudge your dog into being more comfortable in new situations. Join us for a 7 week course designed to help your dog work through their anxiety and learn some basic skills in a non-threatening environment. Open to puppies and dogs over 6 months of age.

COMINGS AND GOINGS

A 2 week class that focuses simply on walking nicely on leash and coming when called – two of the most common behavioral complaints from owners. We will provide you with multiple methods for teaching your dog to walk nicely on leash as well as come when called. Dogs and puppies of all ages are invited to attend. There are no pre-requisites.

FOUR ON THE FLOOR

A one hour class that focuses on dogs who jump. We will provide you with options for addressing jumping and teach your dog skills so that he/she is less likely to jump in the future.

YOU DON'T MAKE FRIENDS BY BARKING

Does your dog lack doggy social skills? This is a basic obedience class for dogs that don't know how to communicate with other dogs. Your instructor will show you how to teach basic obedience skills—heeling on a leash, loose leash walking, Sit/Stays, Down/Stays, and good Recall (come when called). This class is a great prep class for Canine Focus which works on modifying your dog's reactive behavior. Non-aggressive dogs over 11 months of age only. This is a seven week course, one hour per week.

CANINE FOCUS - Advanced Level class

Does your dog lack the ability to remain calm and focused on you in the presence of other dogs? Does your dog lunge and bark at dogs on leash? Do you lose control of your dog when you see other dogs on leash? Whether or not your dog is truly dog aggressive, we will provide a class to train your dog to think while practicing existing and learning new skills by using a semi-private environment to give him that extra instruction you need. Our instructor Lilian Akin will use positive reinforcement techniques to achieve calm attentive behavior on leash. Basic obedience skills are a requirement. Pre-requisite of a private evaluation. This is a six week course, one hour per week.
