Choosing the Right Class for Your Dog

The team of instructors at Get Smart! believe that age appropriate basic level classes are the best way for your new family member to acquire their basic skills while they learn to trust you and become a member of your family.

Basic Level Classes

Puppy Pre-school
Designed for puppies 9 to 15 weeks on the first day of class.

Teen Time
Designed for puppies 6 months up to 10 months on the first day of class.

Adult Basic I
Designed for all dogs 11 months or older on the first day of class.

Bully Breed Level I
Designed for pit bulls and pit bull mixes - 6 months on the first day of class; must be spayed or neutered.

Small Dog Basic
Designed for small breeds 24 weeks or older on the first day of class.

Your basic level instructor will be happy to recommend the next best step for your puppy or dog. But the most common progression is as follows:

Puppy Pre-School

  • Advanced Puppy
  • Super Dog
  • Advanced Super Dog
  • Advanced Puppy
  • Super Dog

Teen Time puppies under 10 months old when they complete the class

  • Advanced Puppy
  • Super Dog

Teen Time puppies over 10 months old when they complete the class

  • Adult Basic I (to practice & polish skills) or
  • Adult Basic II (with instructor's recommendation)

Adult Basic I

  • Adult Basic II
  • CGC/TDI

Bully Breed Ambassadors

Small Dog Basic

  • Advanced Puppy (if under 10 mo)

Challenges and Having Fun with your dog
We offer many classes and private sessions to address certain behavior problems. We also offer a variety of classes geared toward having fun with your dog including Agility, and Rally Obedience.
