Dog Adoption Fees

The Western PA Humane Society pays the initial yearly fee for a City of Pittsburgh dog license. (Adopters are responsible for renewal license fee. If adopter resides outside of the city of Pittsburgh, adopter is responsible to obtain and pay dog license fee.)

Puppies

Under 6 months of age, $215

• Includes Puppy Preschool Obedience Classes
• One year WPHS membership
• Spay / Neuter surgery
• Vaccinations: Distemper/Parvovirus Combo, Bordetella
• Rabies (prior to adoption if deemed by standard veterinarian protocol)
• Avid Microchip (form of permanent identification)
• Flea Treatment application
• Complimentary one year WPHS Lifesaver membership

Adult Dogs

6 months and older, $100
An additional $75 may be added to the adoption fee if Obedience Classes are manditory

• Spay/Neuter surgery
• Vaccinations: Distemper/Parvovirus Combo, Bordetella, Rabies
• Heartworm Test
• Deworming treatment and/or fecal exam, Flea Treatment application
• AVID Microchip (form of permanent identification)
• Complimentary one year WPHS Lifesaver membership

Senior Dogs

7 years and older, $50
An additional $75 may be added to the adoption fee if Obedience Classes are manditory

• Spay/Neuter surgery
• Vaccinations: Distemper/Parvovirus Combo, Bordetella, Rabies
